Evaluation Question 4.

4) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

In the planning stages of my advanced production I used technologies like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest and Prezi. I used youtube to look up and see other people music videos, by doing this   I could see the techniques used, and it gave me inspiration to experiment with my video, without this I don't think it would have been so important to me to use as many locations as I need, by looking at all the other music video I saw that they set it in many different places even if they kept coming back to one place that is why I used so many locations. I used Facebook and twitter to show my friends and other people what is going on with the filming at edition of my music video and how I did curtain things with my music video these were also great for feed back and getting to see what the audience wanted from my music video and how I could change it for the better. I used Pintrest to also get ideas, all you do is type in a word and lodes of pictures come up, I used this to see what I could add and put into my music video. I also used this to make my mood board that is in a earlier blog. I used Prezi as a presenter, to show different ideas clearly and neatly, this worked well to show things like what codes and conventions are and the three different types of music videos.
In the construction stages of my music video I used tow different sources, I used Youtube when I didn't know how to do something, it showed me how to use the sources I was usig effectively and too its full protectional. I used iMovies for all the editing in my music video, by using this I could add in any special effect that I wanted of my music video. This worked really well as its simple to use and I used the unupdated one last year. I also use iPhoto of the edition of pictures in my products and photo shop elements 11 to put the writing on my digi pack.
In the research I used only Youtube and pintrest to get ideas, I had a solid idea of what I wanted for my music video therefore I just needed some more ideas and to know how to carry out those ideas myself.
Overall media technologies where a huge part in all the stages of my media production they helped me from planning to filming and editing.

Evaluation Question 3.

3) What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

Though out the making of my music video I have been showing it to people to see what there response is, as I wanted people to like it.
I made a Facebook page and kept people updated with ideas and clips of the music video so that I could get it just right and see there views on my ideas.
After all my filming and editing was done I sent it too people to watch and give there comments. I also showed it to many different people around where I live e.g. nabours, people I work with, friends and family. Over all the feed back I got back was positive.
The locations, one of the main positives was the range of locations that I had used, they liked how nearly every part of the video was in a different place showing different things from the last part without being jumpy because of the transitions that I had put in. They liked how there was a horse galloping along a beach because this is not often seen in music videos and added difference to the video. The range of locations mean that people didn't get bored when watching the video as the never knew what was next to come or where the next clip would be taken place.
Another positive that I got from audience feedback was the use of miss-en-scene. The fact that throughout he video my actress looked like she should in that curtain place or area. The costume changes fitted in with the background and so did her make up and hair- although I wanted her hair to stay the same throughout as it gave the different effect. They liked the experimenting with different clothing and how it changed the view and perception of the whole video.
Another positive was my actress, everybody thought that she fitted the part perfectly. Although I can not take credit for her acting as that was all down to her and although she looked perfect for the part she also acted it perfectly and I couldn't have asked for a better actress for the part.
I also got negative feedback, this was about he lip syncing, although I tried very hard to have the whole video is sync it was very difficult for me to get the whole video in sync. This got pulled up a lot by the viewers saying that the parts that where in sync where a lot better then those parts that where not.

Over all I have learnt a lot from my aduice feed back, I have learn that he casting of the role is very important and to have many different locations is also very important as it keep the audiences mind busy and doesn't let them get board. I also learnt how important lip-syncing is.

Evaluation Question 2.

2) How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary text?

My music video, My digi pack and my poster all are working together to get my audience to know my artist. The artist of all is called Beanie, in order to be able to make it all link in I need some common factors.
Throughout my music video I have used the beach, I used the beach to film the horse galloping, to have many different parts of the video sung there- therefore I though  it was only fitting to have my digi pack mostly at the beach. Although they are taken at different parts of the beach on different days and she is wearing different things the common factor is the beach.
I also used the same writing through out my digi pack and my poster, they all have the same writing and the size is depend on how it fitted with the product. I used "Luciia CE" in capitals for the titles and used it not in capitals for the smaller text, when looking at other artist digi pack and poster the writing is one of the main things that doest change throughout so I felt this was a very import factor in my digi pack and poster.
To make the digi pack, poster and video consistent I used the editing on my mac. I used the iPhoto for the digi pack and poster to edit the work although I used photo shop elements 11 to put on the writing. And I used the iMovie to edit my video so that it was in the same format and fitted together well.
I was my main aim that my main product and ancillary text where very closely linked, and I believe this has been achieved. The area that are filmed have been used in my digi pack and poster, with my actress wearing and looking the same so that it is very closely linked and recognisable throughout.

Evaluation Question 1.

1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

For my video I wanted it to be like popular pop videos today. I wanted my video to have some different ideas but have the same standard and diversity that all the other music video have today. Music videos today are pushing the boundaries, not in the ways that they used to but instead by making the audience use there imagination and get lost in the music video- I believe that they want people to not only get lost in the song but also in the music video.  To see how to get this effect I had to look into other music videos, I looked into the videos from Lorde as although this was my so her music and music videos are very dream like (this is how I knew it was right for the song) and I wanted to see what ideas she had got. In her video "Tennis Court" it is very simple yet very effective, It is simply her sitting in a dark room with bright lights flashing to the music. Although this is not dream like it is very effective and doest show the audience that the song is about so you have to listen and find out your self. Another video that is unlike my song but uses the dream and Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night" although this is a lot different from anything I would do with my song, the idea that she wakes up in the messy room looking the way she does and then having the flash backs to the night before when it was all "perfect" was somewhat the idea I was going for in my music video. I wanted it to seem that she did live in a horrible place didn't have much money but it didn't matter because she was okay with it and could dream. I wanted to keep in the norm for music videos and be aware of the fact this is a pop video but I also wanted to make my video stand out and be like the videos these days that make you think about what your watching. I believe my music video does this. My plan all the time with this music video was to have in in a dream, make the audience understand and see what she is going through but also see it in there own light, in the way that they want to see it and understand it. The main reason why I used this convention is because in the modern day every body has a "dream" and I wanted to use that for my video to appeal to the viewers.
My video also I believe developed normal forms and conventions, the reason for this is my use of locations. I travelled a lot through out the making for this music video into natural places- this I don't believe is done that much in midden music video making. They use a studio and have everything there however I believe that going to the place and working with the weather and different timings changes the whole feel of the video unlike when you do it in a studio.
I believe my music video also challenges modern forms and conventions of real media products because it seems more real. Its not likely that even for a music video Rhianna or Queen B are going to be seen in a dark ally or under a cold bridge singing how there not proud of there address. This is how I wanted my music video to differ. I wanted it to be real (in the real parts) and dreamy in the dram parts, and I knew the only was I was going to be able to do this was by pushing the boundaries and not letting anything give away that it was warm and she had a home. For the first part I used a old bridge we where underneath it and it had old blankets and writing all over the walls which gave a great feel, I went there early in the morning on a sunny day so that I would get  the cold morning light- which I did. I also go my actress to dress in many old and baggy clothes, these meant that she looked cold and like she didn't have the money to pay for clothes for fashion or size just warmth. I go her to put a light layer of light make up on and nothing on her lips so they looked dry and like she hadn't eaten. Her hair was messy like she didn't have the funds to brush it and this all added to the effect. It gave the video a scarily realistic view of what people have to go through living in today's world, where like in my video some people have it all (in her dream) the dresses the houses the animals but also some people don't have anything. But this is not to say that they are not as happy. This is how my music video challenged normal forms and conventions as it not only showed the good side of life but also the bad side.

Story Board.

Story Board
In this blog I am going to show my story board, I did this on paper, took a picture and the unloaded it to my blog. I could have used a digital story board but if I did this I couldn't draw in it.

This is my story board:

My Digi Pack Poster.

My Digi Pack Poster
In this blog I am going to show my divi pack poster, I used the same photoshop on my poster as I did for the rest of my divi pack.
For my poster I cropped it down so that she was standing in the middle of the image, I added her name the name of the song- when it was out and some quotes from listeners of the song for promoting her and her music. At the bottom of the poster I added in the record labels names that hold the song.

This is my poster:
